No tax on telecom sector budget 2010-2011

Budget 2010-11 stated number tax charge for Telecom sector. Before, ther had been misconception in the sector at a11 stages dat leveling of GST might lessen taxes on Telecom industry frm 19.5 % to 17 %.

However, aftr from FBR officials, Telecom experts & journalists, V cn nw safely say dat ther has been number change for taxes on Telecom sector.

Reason: 19.5 % tax dat telecom users give on service's is Federal Excise Duty & not GST. Hence, balancing of GST at 17 % will not effect any taxing on telephone services.

It is good dat previous year, whn FED waz decreased frm 21 % to 19.5 %, then all had named it GST, but nw V come to know dat it waz FED & not GST.

Mr. Abdul Rehman, Director of FBR has ensured us dat taxation on telecom service's come in FED, hence telecom users will keep giving same no of taxes az they wer giving bfor budget.

Mr. Zahid Khawaja, telecom reporter at (News Network International) a1so ensured us the same.
